« on: 08-Aug-2019, 10:51:50 »
Hi Jeff,
I noticed that the following NOTAM is not plotted:

Q) EGTT/QGWXX/IV/NBO/E/000/400/5201N00339W122
B) FROM: 19/08/05 07:00C) TO: 19/08/23 16:00
E) GNSS SIGNAL JAMMING TRIAL. GND JAMMERS LOCATED WI 3NM RADIUS PSN
520053N 0033831W (SENNYBRIDGE, POWYS). ACTIVITY MAY AFFECT ACFT WI
122NM RADIUS OF SITE. EMERGENCY CEASE JAM CONTACT 01874 635599 OR
01980 957597. DURING TRIAL GNSS REC MAY SUFFER INTERMITTENT/TOTAL
FAILURE, OR GIVE INCORRECT PSN INFO. CREWS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THESE
LIMITATIONS AND USE ALTERNATE MEANS OF NAV. FOR INFO 01874 635599.
2019-08-0283/AS4
SCHEDULE: 0700-1600

The NOTAM INFO application plots it but with the following comment:
"B1344/19: Unknown Q code 'GW' : miscellaneous plain language"

Is this my error as a user, an error in the NOTAM or something that SPINE could deal with?

Thanks - Phil King

Spine / Nothing Plotted !
« on: 14-Nov-2014, 21:12:44 »
Hi Jeff,
As I often do I ran Spine this evening preparatory to flying tomorrow.  There are several NOTAMs within the area I'm interested in but nothing has been plotted.  An example of one that is missing is "DANGER AREA EG D117 PENDINE ACTIVATED" D2096/14.  The NOTAM looks like this:

Q) EGTT/QRDCA/IV/BO/W/000/230/5140N00431W007
B) FROM: 14/11/15 08:00C) TO: 14/11/15 18:00
E) DANGER AREA EG D117 PENDINE ACTIVATED
LOWER: SFC
UPPER: 23000FT AMSL

I don't know whether this is an error or misunderstanding at my end, an error in Spine, or an error in the NOTAM itself.  Spine seems to have got the location correct: 63.8NM from SHO on a bearing of 243T.  Spine's colour coding for this NOTAM shows that it should be included (which I assume means plotted).  It's within range as shown by the red circle on the chart.  What's up?

p.s.  I tried a fresh download and install on a different computer.  I get exactly the same problem - nothing plotted, so I'm thinking the problem isn't with my computer.  I tried a similar bit of NOTAM plotting software at http://notaminfo.com/ukmap and it plots OK, so I'm thinking that the "Q" line in the NOTAMs is probably correct.

p.p.s.  21st November.  Seems to be working OK now.  Not sure what has changed.

Spine / EGCT Tilstock wrong coordinates
« on: 05-Aug-2012, 22:19:14 »
Hi Jeff,

I have noticed a minor problem with EGCT Tilstock airfield.  It is plotted near Bridgnorth.  It should be about 30 miles further north near Whitchurch.  The coordinates are shown as N52 33.60  W002 23.40.  They should be N52 55.93  W002 38.83.

Spine / D216 shown as a Restricted area to FL150
« on: 25-Mar-2011, 21:50:24 »
Jeff,  I've just installed v5.7 and on the plot of airspace and notams I see D216 Credenhill (near Hereford) as a restricted area up to FL150.  I am unaware that this is a restricted area.  I suspect that it may be that the new feature to display danger area details in a pop-up may be misbehaving.  Please can you have a look and see whether I've misunderstood something?

Thanks Phil King

TpSelect / GR1000 logger support
« on: 18-Jan-2010, 17:53:17 »
I use a GR1000 logger.  This was produced in Austria and the UK agent is Dave Robertson of TaskNav fame.  The logger has a built in BGA TP database and in my case this is 1998 vintage and getting increasingly out of date.  The logger also has a user loadable database for up to 200 TPs.  The supplied software (data-prt.exe) will load this database and can import the TPs in various formats.  I found that the Filser LX5000 DA4 format worked for me.  The process I used is to run TpSelect to choose a subset of 200 or fewer BGA TPs around the Shobdon area, create a DA4 format file, then import this file to data-prt.exe and write them to the GR1000 logger.  That's simple to explain here but took me all morning to figure out.

If you have more than 200 TPs in the file, data-prt.exe ignores them but doesn't give you any warning message.

Spine / Temporary Controlled Airspace not plotted
« on: 25-Apr-2009, 11:46:09 »
Today someone important was flying from Aberdeen to Lyneham.  The AIS information line 0550 354802 had full details of the airspace quoting the text of the relevant notams.  Unfortunately these need plotting on a map before they mean much to me.  I hoped that Spine would enlighten me, but unfortunately it doesn't!

Geoff please would it be possible to plot NOTAMS like this one?  The text is:
